Gallstones + Gallbladder Surgery
Gallbladder removal is recommended when gallstones are causing pain, inflammation or other complications. The operation, called a cholecystectomy, removes the gallbladder, most often using keyhole surgery through a few small cuts in the tummy. Removing the gallbladder stops the gallstones causing further attacks, and most people can digest food normally afterwards. Mr Walker is highly experienced in gallbladder surgery and aims to provide clear guidance, expert treatment and reassurance from first consultation through to recovery.

Hernia Surgery
Hernia surgery repairs the weak area in the muscle or tissue wall that is allowing a lump or bulge to push through. Depending on the type of hernia, this can often be done with either open surgery or keyhole surgery, and in many cases a mesh is used to strengthen the repair. The aim is to relieve discomfort, prevent the hernia getting bigger, and reduce the risk of future problems. Mr Walker has broad experience in hernia repair and focuses on straightforward advice, safe treatment and a smooth recovery wherever possible.

GORD and Acid-reflux Surgery
Surgery for GORD or acid reflux is usually considered when symptoms are severe, ongoing, or not properly controlled with medication. The most common operation is called a fundoplication, usually done with keyhole surgery, where the top of the stomach is wrapped around the lower part of the oesophagus to help strengthen the valve and stop acid travelling upwards. The aim is to reduce reflux, heartburn and the irritation it causes. Mr Walker takes a thoughtful, patient-focused approach, helping you understand whether surgery is the right option and what outcome you can realistically expect.

Oesophageal Cancer Surgery
Oesophageal cancer surgery is used to remove cancer from the oesophagus, which is the food pipe connecting your mouth to your stomach. Depending on the stage and position of the cancer, surgery may be recommended. It is a major operation, but for some patients it offers the best chance of treating the cancer effectively. Robotic surgery may be recommended and may offer faster recovery with fewer long lasting effects. Mr Walker has significant experience in complex oesophageal surgery and is committed to making sure patients feel informed, supported and confident in their care.

Gastric Cancer Surgery
Gastric cancer surgery is carried out to remove part, or sometimes all, of the stomach. The aim is to take away the cancer safely and nearby tissue and lymph nodes as well. The exact operation depends on where the cancer is and how far it has spread, and your surgeon will talk you through the best approach for you. Mr Walker has extensive experience in gastric cancer surgery and will make sure you understand your options clearly, with care tailored to your individual diagnosis and needs.

Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumours Surgery
Surgery for a gastrointestinal stromal tumour, or GIST, is done to remove the tumour from the digestive system. In many cases, surgery is the main treatment, with the aim of removing the growth completely while preserving as much normal tissue as possible. The type of operation depends on the size and position of the tumour, and sometimes drug treatment is used alongside surgery as part of the overall plan. Mr Walker offers experienced, specialist care and will guide you through each stage of treatment in a calm, clear and reassuring way.
